Activated charcoal tons of bubbles

I have never seen this. I put some activated charcoal in my filter an it is producing tons of bubbles. Is that normal?

Did you rinse it out first? What brand?

Did you rinse it and or presoak it ?

It usually sizzles when you get it wet.

Air bubbles being forced out of the carbon chains.
Better carbon , tighter chains , more bubbles.

Do you see any carbon "dust" in the tank or any clouding? If not, you are probably alright.

No there is no dust, tank looks normal.
