hi, I have had my tank set up for about 6 months and I have a kole tang, clown fish, damseal. the tang isn't very active or social. I would like to add a couple of other fish that are more active when I am around. does anyone have any ideas that could help? I will have coral eventually so I would like to have coral safe fish. thanks

Depends on the size of your tank.
If it is big enough to add another fish and the top covered to keep jumpers in I would look into adding a wrasse.

And....even though I discourage most damsels, I have a few blue Azures. Cute and super colorful. They are not as agressive as most, keep there color, and don't get too big. I have 7 in a 65 gallon. They sure add a splash of blue!

I agree with the Wrasses....you can also add a Midas Blenny or a Dwarf Angel...they both offer a lot of color and movement.

I love the Klausewitz's Blenny and Cherub angel. Both are active and very colorful. Most pics online don't do justice for the blenny.

what size is the tank? one spot foxface is always active and will keep algae in check.

Any fish that's social is probably going to be intimidated by your damsel. I'd remove that first.
I love the tailspot blenny and orchid dottyback. I've never had a midas blenny, but I've heard good things about them.

If you really want something you can interact with get a cleaner shrimp. You can hand feed them and intice them to crawl on your hand. I just got one a few weeks ago and it's a lot more fun than any fish I've ever owned.

I hav a 92bow front with about 100lbs of live rock. my tank is in a room where my son sometimes plays so the fish are a little scared. :( can't do much about that now. I am trying to remove my damsel... I cut and put a two liter bottle in my tank. lol. I saw on youtube that is how to catch a fish. It's been two days and still no luck. Im hoping if I leave the bottle in there the fish won't be bothered by it as much. any ideas

My fuzzy dwarf lion fish had quite the personality. If you got one, it might eat your clownfish.

Valentini puffers have the best personality of any fish I've ever owned. They are reef safe with caution though. From what I've heard they seem to nibble for the most part as opposed to fully eating coral. Mine wouldn't touch coral at all.
It's a risk, but if it works in your favour it will be more than worth it!
Do you know where the damsel like to sleep? After dark is probably the easiest way to catch him if he won't enter the trap :)

My Kole Tang is very active and social but he/she has 4 other Tangs as company so guessing yours could use a friend or Dither Fish to make it feel safer. I also have several Wrasses and a Tailspot Blenny pair which are all favorites.

Cheers, Todd

I added a yellow tang last week and he is very active. He actually is starting to come and eat from my hand. I have a 92 and would love to add numerous fish but I am practicing patience right now and trying to keep my impulse buying in check lol. Tangs are beautiful fish though

Wrasses and anthias have always been social and active anthias even at night
