Actual cash value for any coral frag, mini colony , full sized colony can be calculated to a respectful sum. Then some of us are left with the some unknown corals. Is there a method or average price on corals, such as unknown sps corals, lps corals etc to help evaluate actual cash value?

Some people chuck a fancy name on an unknown coral and charge through the roof and make hundreds off a $50 piece.
There's nothing worse than seeing "super master multicolour skittle rainbow burst acro!" Being sold for $200, buying it, then in 6 months realising it's a fairly common, fast growing coral you can't get rid of for $50 because everyone else already has one or five at home.
Those of us with more than money on the mind will just sell them for the average going price for a non-fancy-shmancy-named frag. Colour, pattern, growth rate and hardiness are all major factors of price. If you have a super fast growing acro with drab and dull colour, it won't go for as much as a super bright multicolour frag that grows slowly.
If you're asking because you're looking to sell some frags, have a look at similar species with similar colours and make your best judgement call based off that. Worst case scenario, you drop the piece a little before selling.

Not planning on selling any soon however I would like to get a general sense of how much my coral value is in my tank as it progresses from frags to colonies.

I have a good mixture of high to medium and average acros. Some have great colors but I don't know what the name of them are after I was told when I bought them. Is there a list with pictures on this forum that'll show you corals of different species and genus. Maybe explain how to tell the difference between them.

I don't there is a database of known coral names on this forum, but you can post pics asking for IDs. The people here are usually spot on with those types of things :)

Ok. I'll have to try to get a good picture of actual colors in them so there's no confusion
