pH has stayed nicely at 8.4-8.5, parameters all basically where I want using @Randy Holmes-Farley high pH 2 part mixed to double strength w/ doser, Reef Octopus Regal Ext-250 and Bubble Magus roller filter. Not testing often and loving it.

Also, skimmer intake is hooked up to 1” flexible line running outside. Eliminated CO2 scrubbing and also liking it.

I think most of my hassles over the past 16 years have been due to too much bioload for my previous tank sizes.

Alright… pics coming soon! Tank looks good. Loving the kind of “half sand half bare bottom” that I did. Easy to keep clean but also you get some of what I think looks cool with a bear bottom. For example, coralline growing on the bottom as well as Xenia, GSP and who knows what else in time.

Going “partial” BB was the best decision I made for this system. There’s a fine dusting of sand for cosmetic reasons but it’s only covering maybe 1/3 of the floor and is nothing I can’t turn over easily to prevent detritus accumulation. I love the way the coralline has covered the bottom over time.
