Add biological filtration

Hello so I have a 60G soft coral reef tank and with all the talk of marine pure leaching aluminum I want to remove it from my sump
The live rock in my tank is not very porous and that is why I added the marine pure to the sump

So if I remove this biological filtration what should I replace it with in my sump ? What will give me the best biological filtration

Biohome media before but not sure I want to use something thats not proven

I loved the biohome media both size it is fantastic stuff. I made the mistake of getting rid of it when I went salt. Kicking myself. I haven't seen enough evidence yet to remove the small brick I have of marine Pur. More people seem to like than not. So I still question it but I will adding biohome to my sump

I was thinking of trying seachem DE Nitrate Or Matrix to help with elevated nitrate levels

From their site they don't say exactly what's in it but this little blurb

Biohome Ultimate Marine is infused with trace elements including iron and manganese to support beneficial bacteria growth. Bacteria growth in Ultimate Marine is very fast to control ammonia and nitrite.
The trace elements are fused into the structure of this media and are there to enhance bacterial processes only, not to alter water chemistry although users have commonly reported a marked improvement in coral health and coloration – this may be due to the water being extremely good quality in a Biohome filtered tank.

If the reason for switching is concern over aluminum, I can't be sure those choices are any better.

I don't really know anything about it, and have not heard of any folks using it on reefs.

That is certainly a safe choice.
