If I add some additional rock that's dead/ dry and has been acid washed, will I see a spike of any kind to my existing system? Was hoping to cure some rock for a while for a buddy in my sump to use in his system in the spring.

Acid washing does a good job of cleaning the rock. You should be safe. How much is in there currently and how much are you adding?

I have added dry rock to my system a couple times (15% increase in rock). I saw a diatom outbreak on the new rocks, a little on the old rocks but nothing to cause issues. I have never seen parameter swings.

If it's cleaned well, there shouldn't be any issues. The only thing I can think of would be phosphates leeching out of the rock.

Acid washin should remove most stuff: phosphates and organics. If you have space and time, you could always toss it into a container with salt water for a few weeks. Make sure the container is food safe so it does not leach any harmful chemicals.
