I have a 2 chamber plexiglass sump and I have been considering adding a refugium with macroalgae but not sure where and how to add. And advice? First chamber is over flow with skimmer, 2nd chamber is return. Would a HOB refugium help? There is not much room in either chamber. Or could I just add macro algae to 1st or second chamber? Just add a light ?

Have your local acrylic fabricator make you a small acrylic fuge box. just drop it in one of your chambers. I would not just add macro to any chambers that have pumps in them.

Well you want to have medium to low flow so the macro algae doesnt get tossed and turned and breaks apart. You also want it to be a breeding ground for copepods and amphipods. If you have the money and room and want modularity i recommend getting a larger sump with a built in refugium area.
