Hey everyone! I’m thinking about adding a trapezia crab to my tank but thought I’d get some opinions from the experts. I have an acro that’s a mini colony about the size of your fist. Would a trapezia crab work in a colony this size? Would it cause any issues from irritating the coral? I also have a few frags that are still little sticks. These crabs seem really interesting but I don’t want to regret it later. What do you all think?

edit: hit post too soon!

Look up the thread from 2013 or so about acropora crabs. I think it will give you the info you're looking for.

From what I read, they are fine but really need colonies not just a stick

The big ones with one big claw are best left in poci and birdsnest but the bandit crabs and other small ones are really great but sometimes don’t work out in a tank with not a lot of acropora or just one small colony. If there are choices for it then it should do fine. I remember my last figi order each acro had around two good crabs in it. It was right after a storm and mixed in were a bunch of gorilla crabs which were hard to get out, sneaky things.
