My Yellow Tang is not taking it too well. The yellow tang had not been aggressive for any other additions but it constantly harassing the hippo. I just added it tonight. Will things calm down?

The hippo is a tad larger than the tang.

How large is your tank and what does your aquascape look like? Does the blue hippo have a lot of places he can hide?

75g been up for about 5 months now. I believe there are enough hiding places but as I just added he may not have found them yet. The hippo is about 2.5 - 3"

You'll probably be getting a lot of people on here telling you that your tank is too small...and they are right. A blue hippo needs a tank twice that size, so eventually you will have to re-home or upgrade.
With that said, some picking is common between tangs...especially depending upon size of them both and how long one has been in the tank alone. I'd just say keep a close watch and it should subside (mostly) soon.

Seems to me Unless you have a MASSIVE tank and ya 75 gal is good sized but far from massive for open water fish.....one of a kind is the general rule.
One type of clown, one type of tang, one type of angel, one type of goby etc. and if one wants to play with fire they need to be added at the same time.

I was thinking it might just be posturing. Thanks for the tip. I have a lot of faith in my LFS. But I will watch as it grows to make sure it doesn't get to big. Heck by then I might be ready to upgrade.

when i added my hippo my yellow tang had already been in the tank for about 2 months, the yellow was pretty aggressive at first but after about a week they dont mind each other anymore. only time they fight is when the hippo trys to steal the yellows cave, i swear the hippo does it just to annoy the yellow tang lol. but being i have twice as much tank space im not sure how they will do in a smaller tank together.

Aggression toward a new additions is pretty normal between tangs. At the current size of your fish I wouldn't expect it to last very long.

However, as they get larger, and the tank gets more cramped, aggression will increase.
