Got tired of access just from a browser, so I added this little 7inch touch screen. Yeah not much more than plug and play minimum config, but really like being able to see everything at a glace by just opening the front cabinet door. Cheap amazon $60 touchscreen works great. I did use an external power supply that runs to my DJ switch so I can turn it on and off without finding the tiny power button.

Is that a raspberry pi monitor or just a generic off the shelf tablet?

Cheap open frame, I just mounted it on an oversize piece of lexan then attached it to my stand. Just has power, touch and HDMI connections.

If putting it on a Pi, you need to force the HDMI in the config of the pi with these lines.

hdmi_cvt=1024 600 60 3 0 0 0
hdmi_group=2
hdmi_mode=87
Thanks but still in the planning stages, haven’t started my build yet waiting on structural review of my floor. Hoping to be up and running by July.

Nice screen, something I need to get one day. Do you have any issues with touch? I've read posts in the past that official Pi touch screens have issues with touch on some menus. That's always made me hesitant but I'm starting to see a pattern that displays with HDMI and USB for touch work ok.

It worked the one time I tried it, but honestly for programming and changes I'll remote in or use the web interface. I just wanted a display to be able to read at the tank.

I am looking into this a bit more. Having second thoughts about touch screen, the one thing I really dislike about my iPad is the “keyboard” takes up half the screen when using it. So considering other options like keyboard, mouse, and 5 point touch screen instead of 10.

Did you get a case for yours or is all electronics somewhat exposed?

I always just remote it, i dont use the touch screen in practice. There are 4 2.5M mounts on the back of the monitor, I screwed on a slightly over sized piece of plexi into them, then just screwed the plexi into the woo to mount it.
