Just got into saltwater 1 1/2 months bought a 16 gallon nano , and built a 25 gallon sump with a. 10 gallon refugium. Got 35 pounds of live sand 18 pounds of live rock. My refugium is 10 gallons with macro allege. I have 3 fish clown , sixline, and a scooter blenny. 1 fire shrimp, 2 emerald crabs, 2 turbo snails, 5 nassarius snails. I am running a protien skimmer about 8 hours a day. Macro algae is growing good. I added some live rock yesterday , and copepods in refugium and now my coral( green star poly) will not open. I noticed some brown spots on it. My nitrates are reading a 10, phosphates 0, kh 9, Calicum 400, ph 8. Not sure why?

keep running your skimmer 24/7. brush off brown stuff on your GSP. GSP is hardy.
1-1/2 month still new. give it some time to mature. doing 5-10% WC way to go

Should I get rid of all filter media and just use refugium, and sock I am still using the filter media basket with 3 filtration

can you specifiy what kind media you are using?
im using TLF 150 for crbon and GFO. chaeto refugium.
keep the sock. clean often
reverse refugium light with DT light.
DT light on refugium off. DT ligh off refugium on.

I am using a mechanical sponge , carbon sponge , and then phosphate sponge , all in one media tray in back of tank before in hits sump and sock.

We I did a partial water change 10% left skimmer running 24/7 and removed some filter media and my coral open up the next day. Thanks for the help everyone
