Just added a 60 watt fluval programmable led light and my engineer gobi has emerged and is swimming around in the open. I haven’t seen Him in about 3-4 years until yesterday, nothing has changed but the new light. This is such strange behavior for him that I’m worried he’s sick, is this normal behavior after a lighting upgrade? I’m just starting a reef so no corals are present yet, and the other fish have been there for year and are behaving normally.

What did you upgrade from, and are you running the new light full blast right away, or starting low and bumping up the intensity a little bit every couple of days?

30 watts of 10000k led, just generic display lighting really, until now I have only done FOLR aquariums, I also have a sump with a plant growing led for algae growth.

As for light timing, I kept the factory preset intensity but I shortened the daylight time in the cycle and was going to gradually lengthen it over time.
