I just rescaped my tank and the tank is fine. I had problems with phosphates and acros not doing well. So, I had a local reefing buddy come over and help me rescape the tank. We added about 10 more pounds of rock to the tank. Should I be worried about phosphates and with the rock cycling again? There was one rock that was in my other tank we used and it was cycled and cured for over a year.

Any time you seriously disturb the rockscape you run the risk of causing a cycle. The good news is you should still have a solid bacteria culture on the old rock that should handle that cycle quickly. It isn't anything like starting a new tank with no bacteria on the rock.

I'm not sure why you are worried about increased phosphates? Just test for them and be prepared to do a water change if things get out of hand.

I worry cause I have a large live stock in there. I also feed once a day and it was 2 cubes of mysis and I feed the corals twice a week. It raised my phosphates to .24 at the highest and .06 at the lowest. I did an icp test cause I was losing acros like crazy. Found out that my phosphates are high but everything else was spot on. I do water changes every two weeks as well. I recently started using gfo and less feeding to see what it does. Tomorrow I’m going to test to make sure things are still in check.
