Pros about the diffusers

Very sleek looking and extremely easy to install. They just snap on.
The spread and color blending looks awesome.
The hot spots are completely eliminated. I didn’t have any crazy ones bc my hydras are mounted at 16” but there were a couple areas with par irregularities.

Con

They are par killers. I had to increase my light intensity by 23% to reach the same par levels as before. I actually bought one for my prime 16 hd that’s over a 12” cube frag tank that is already nearly maxed out to deliver 175-250 par to my frag rack. The diffuser reduced the par to 100-200. So I’m not going to use it on that light. So you might need to rethink getting these if you’re lights are already maxed out.

sigh, the con section might explain some things on my tank...

i knew it ate some, but never confirmed it was that much par. i run one hydra32 over my nuvo40 with the xho add on. tenuis frags and others are surviving, nut kinda dormant...it makes such a difference on the blending and light splatter tho

I have ran these on my current tank and the previous tank... I run them currently on 2- Hydra 26HDs & 1- Hydra 52HD. The color blending and hotspot fix is well worth the amount of PAR lowered. As long as like the OP said you don't have your lights maxed out. With these I was able to lower my lights and spread them across the tank wider to help make up the par loss... But I also increased the lights a tad bit too... My lights are 10" off the water on my Reefer350.
