Today I added Three fish to my tank.
Yellow watchman goby
Purple Firefish
Royal gramma basslet
I also have 3 green chromis already.
For feeding I bought a variety of frozen preparations, and sinking pellets, in addition to the flakes I already use for the chromis. I added a bag of copepods with zooplankton to tank the day before adding these. I have an order of other copepods coming in next week also, tigris or something like that.
Tank is doing good nitrite is 0, nitrate is 20 but that is with an API kit. Going to keep a close eye on the nitrate next few days. Have yet to use skimmer or chemical filter media as it was not recommended for the first 3 months or so by aquarium specialist *unless needed.* based on testing.
My feeding schedule for the chromis was 4-5 times a day, 1 tiny pinch ground up with fingers of flake food. If they eat it all within a minute I add another small pinch. 90% or more eaten feeding this way. They chased each other more throughout day before I started multiple feedings. Now they school most of the day.
I don't know how to be efficient with carnivores. What I did was turned off the pump, and turned up wave maker. placed the frozen preparation near it and let it blow around the tank. after 5 minutes plugged back in Pump, most of what is left ends up in pre-filter. Might have to increase frequency of cleaning that now. watchman Goby hasn't eaten today, but there are copepods on the sand so I hope that holds him till he decides he likes frozen preperations, or flakes, or my weekly copepod dosing. I am sure he is just getting acclimated, lucky to get 2 of the 3 to eat first day.
