I have one percula clown that I have had for about three years. I would like to add a black percula clown . I am afraid that the percula will reject any clown that I put in there. Is there any trick that will get md success and they will happily pair off ? Any advise would be great.

Can you catch the clown that is already in the tank? I had success with mine by trapping the established female an putting her in an acclimation box. I let the new smaller addition in the tank to adjust and get used to the female before letting her go. After about 24 hours they were fine.

I've got four clowns I've added at different times. It's been my experience that as long as the newest clown is the largest clown in the tank you'll be fine.

Odds are that you are looking at an ocellaris -- soild black ones are going to be ocellaris (( small chance of being A. polymnus )), and not a perc.

It won't be a huge deal to pair these 2 species, but thought you should be aware if you cared about having 2 of the same species.

BTW, I have this combo in one of my tanks.
