Adding a canopy to a rimless ?

I bought a rimless 90g (36"X24"X24") Miracles tank from a fellow reefer and i would like to put a canopy on it. I like the rimless look but i want to have less evaporation and to be able to put the fish i want in it(i already have lots of jumpers). If had ordered a custom tank, it would not have been rimless but this one was the dimensions i wanted and the price was right.

So if i make the canopy as light as possible, can it cause problems for my tank?

The canopy I made for my 75 rimless is mounted to the wall,It looks like the canopy is floating above the tank.I didn't won't a canopy that would sit on the tank,that would defeat the whole rimless look.

Hello Chipie,

I haven't seen many canopies for rimless tanks, but I have seen a couple people make screen tops out of window screen and frame or pond netting to prevent jumpers. Maybe this might work for you? I hope this helps.

I have a cover like the one described above to keep jumpers in. ATo is the best defense against evaporation.

If your asking if the tank can support it. I would say yes. The glass supports the canopy on non- rimless tanks anyway.

Are you adding top off water manually?

Yes i want to know if the tank can support it. It's 0.5" glass. I have an auto top off so that's not the problem. I just don't want to have high humidity in the house. It's a small house and it's an older house with not so good insulation. It's not mine so i can't change that. Just received the tank this afternoon. It is nice
