Hi guys, I have a yellow tang in the main tank and I would like to add a white tail bristletooth tang. Is it possible to get them to get along ok? Or maybe a Blue Caribbean tang? Or a Regal Blue?

The tank is 180 gallons (6 foot long) with a 40 gal sump.

Thanks a lot!!!

Yellows are mean lil buggers when another tang is introduced, imo. Ive done it on several occasions, that's one of those gotta watch and see fish. He may just pester the new guy f2f or a bit then leave him alone. I've not lost anything before because if it. But I try to move the tank around a bit before adding a new Tang to my tank, makes em all uneasy and on even turf at that point.

It is a pretty big tank. And the fact that they are different shapes is a plus. IMO all fish are going to have different personalities so you might have yellow tang that is not agressive at all and sombody else might have a yellow tang that is extreamly agressive. Also most of the time there is like a known personality for different fish so for example, purple tangs are known to be more on the agressive side. But that is just a general thing to go by. I hope that made sense lol.

you can get away with it along as they are not the same body type or species ... i would do it when the lights are off it seems to work better and they settle in alot better with less stress ..

and considered buying a Achillestang but my friends tell me they are suseptibles to Ich and too aggressive
