I'm looking to add a second tank (34g) to my current reef setup (105g+20g sump).

My options are:

Use a common sump and plumb the new tank to it. I'll have to find a way to cover the plumbing between the tanks. This wouldn't be hard at all, it would just take some playing around with to get right.

Use a continuous duty peristaltic pump with a dual-dosing tube and have one inlet in the new tank and one in the existing tank. And then one outlet in the new tank and one in the existing tank so there is a constant water swap without any of the plumbing needed. Figure this would be similar to doing an auto water change - maybe 3 gallons per day.

I change 5% daily on my 105g.

Open to ideas. I don't want to mess with the existing plumbing if I don't have to.

I ran 2 DT's (180g & 75g) off a 180g LFS frag tank (10' x 2' x 18"). I only used one big return pump. BTW, the big external pump at the right end was for a closed loop running in the 180g DT.
