As the title suggests, curious how the temperament of fire/cleaner shrimp are when it comes to a smaller nano tank and trying to add a second one after the other one has been there for a bit. I am hoping they will bond and eventually lead to mating pair. Any concerns with them possibly getting aggressive or are there common practices to get them to pair up.. much like with adding a second smaller clown?

hi, i would say add slightly larger :)

I actually already added the second one today and it was the only one left at TSM so it just happened to be about the same size as the previous one. I did see what appeared to be some aggression from the shrimp that has been in the tank for 2 weeks. They seemed to be having a long term stare down with slow roaming through the tank..with the original shrimp kinda lunging at the new one a few times early on. After an hour or so they seemed to get a little closer to each other and less aggression but still hestance. I tried distracting them by over feeding with a big chunk of frozen brine which distracted them for half an hour. Went out for the rest of the day and when I came home after the tank lights out for night, I couldn't see either of them so I assume they are both in the sole cave in my tank and are tolerating each other enough to share a spacious cave for the night. Hoping over time they will get along and eventually mate.

sorry for reviving old thread, but how are they doing? I'm thinking of adding a 2nd fire shrimp too. Anything that i have to consider?
