Hi guys,

I have been going without a skimmer for 8 months and things have been going well, only problem now I'm starting to get cyanobacteria and my nitrates have been high. I bought a nyos 160, and want to check with experts here whether that will cause any problems to my livestock if I do this.

I have 7 happy anemones and 7 fishes, 2 clams, worms, and only a few corals (toadstool, gsp, some zoa's)

Thoughts?

You can add it with no problems. However, it won't remove nitrate and phospahte already in the tank so you will need to so some water changes or something like waste away. You could try a refugium too if you have room

Thanks!! I just did a water change. I have some waste away and will use that a different day. Is waste away safe with anemones?

Yes. I used it once and it shot my nitrates down after I had a few fish die
