Hey guys I had a question for y’all ...... I currently have a 40 gallon cube reef tank that I will have to move coming up one day and during this move I think ima take out the back black wall at the back of the tank it had a sump like filtration unit with a skimmer..... I think I would rather build a sump underneath it and have a hang on overflow on the back what size return pump (gph) and sump should I use I have a 10 gallons tank I could use technically

I did the same, although I did it after I filled it and I still have the dales back wall.
i would recommend a return pump of at least 800 GPH
i have a build thread in my signature line.
although I would not use that ten gallon tank either its to small to use
as a sump

what are the dimension of the tank
feel free to PM me

A very common setup for 40g display is to build a sump from a 20g long tank from petco. Petco often offers these in their $1 per gallon sales. So 20 bucks for it. The baffles can be bought from a big box hardware store. They'll cut it to size for you. Then just sand the edge of the top side of the baffle so you don't get cut doing maintenance. Just be sure to buy aquarium safe silicone caulk for it.

Tank dimensions are as follows

Your limited with the dimensions of you stand. A 20g ling won't fit, but the 10g would and it would be better than having an AIO setup.
That is a nice cube.

Yes I like the cube and the aio honestly isn’t bad but I wanna grow some bad butt coral and want the best filtration and need a refugium I’m thinking about maby a 20 falling but taller then long ?

You might want to consider setting up a display sump. Meaning, a sump nice enough to show off. Usually guys do this to show their refugium.
What I'm suggesting is having another stand to support your sump, but lower that your cube. That way the overflow will work properly. This way you can still store all your maintenance equipment in the stand and working on the sump will be easy.
I bought a redsea nano cube. I wanted the 170 cube, but I couldn't see myself working on the sump in the small stand. The nano is an aio like yours.
Just a suggestion.
