Hey I currently have a 55 gallon mixed reef using a single fx4 canister. I’d like to remove 1 of 2 wavemakers and add a second canister filter. Either a fx4 or 407 to hold mainly chemical media and such that exhaust quickly. Or potentially adding a HOB. Any suggestions?

I’d go with the 407 fx4 alone is a monster for 55 gallon tank 2 would be too much. If your using just chemical media in the 2nd 407 ore even 307 is the way to go. I run 2 407s on my 65 reef. 2 Fx6s on my 125 and 2 307s on my 40. Do you have a protein skimmer?

Hey yes I run a Aquamaxx 1.5 which does most of the work.
move recently just upgraded the wavemaker and added a Aquamaxx Hob fuge

I run 2 FX4 canister filters and 2 Hydor 1350 GPH powerheads on my 75 gallon tank. Keeps the water Crystal clear and creates a lot of movement in the the tank.
