So when cycling new dry rock do you add beneficial backteria in a bottle to the bucket in which you are doing the curing or is that needed because we are just waiting for all the organics to break down into ammonia until there is non left?
Is there a good thread in here about cycling dry rock in a bucket? I'm looking to rescape my already established 20g

When cycling yes when curing no

The whole point of a cycle is to build beneficial bacteria so that would help.

However if you are curing don't as that is killing all the organic matter and removing dead organic matter.

What I would do is cure for a week then start to cycle. once you start cycling you can add the bacteria

So can dry rock be added when cured to an established tank or does it have to be cycled as well

Would soaking it in bleach be the best means of cleaning? I've never worked with dirty rocks. Just live rock in non established tanks. This is my first time adding to an established tank
I've never cured with bleach but I know it wouldn't end well if there was some left over that got carried into your DT. BRS did some good videos on it

Is this bleach usable? It says fabric protection but nothing in the ingredients strike me as not safe

It says "with fabric protection" which makes me wonder if it has some other additives. Generally you want to avoid bleaches with fragrance or described as "easy pour" as they have additives. You want pure bleach.

I don't think I would use that, just to be safe. Maybe someone who knows what that additive might be will chime in.
