Adding clowns with existing pairs

Hello all! relatively new here, but nearly 30 years in the hobby. I recently upgraded to a large tank (waterbox 220). It’s cycling at the moment. My current tank is an innovative marine 30L and houses a 15 yr old female percula and her relatively new male mate (12 months) and two yellow damsels. On my fish list for new 220 is a group of clowns. I have a QT tank setup (and cycling too) for the 220. My question is how do I add my current pair and say 6-8 clowns to the 220? I’d like to have a small school of clowns but not sure how to go about this.

I suggest that you research a harem clownfish tank. There are some related threads here on R2R and a series of videos on YouTube by BRS when they create a harem tank. Typically these tanks start with a juvenile group.

Seeing it's going to be a new tank, you can put the new group in first and then the pair the next day. Because it;'s a new tank there will be no established territories.

This could be difficult. I've seen it done when you have a group of similar size (small) and ideally from the same clutch. Still doesn't mean that when they get older and with sex changes it doesn't get a bit nippy. I've also seen it where the addition of additional clowns to a mated pair immediately turns into World War 3.
