Hey everyone,

Long story short, tank crashed, developed dino’s and basically have been trying to rebalance everything and fight off stuff for the past 6-9 months. It sucks but I am getting there. Through it all my 2 clowns survived along with 2 zoa frags, and a mushroom. Last week I added a yellow watchman goby, cleaner shrimp, and a new CUC (about 20 snails and 10 hermits). Everything seems to be doing very well.

When should I consider adding in a new coral???….,my tank was (will be) primarily comprised of torches, hammers, octo, and zoas… I am not really an SPS guy.

These numbers have been consistent now for about 10 days.

RedSea Reefer XL 200
1.025 salinty
.015 phosphate
8.3 alk
8.5 nitrate

Thank you all in advance.

If you think dinos are gone and snails are living, I would try a couple new corals at a time.

Things look good, I checked under my microscope as well and do not see dynos, although I still have some reddish coloring in the sand bed although it seems to be slowly going away. Curious, could this be the snails just cleaning up all the crap.

My feelings are the same, try a few slowly in the next week or so and see how things develop.

Have a local friend who’s been a huge help, but I always enjoy coming to the forums.

Thanks

My tank crashed awhile ago 1.5 years. took 6 months to a year to get back. Also seems we put it on the back burner when were not buying or growing coral.

Recommend starting with zoas and then a hammer since zoas are pretty hardy. Also by us not having corals to keep down nutrients and competition other organism take over. Good luck I know your feelings but my qt system is stocked with frags so omw up.
