Ok, never thought I'd be adding corals but since I got the water change down packed I decided to dive in. Tanks been cycled for like 6 weeks. True perc, bangaii and yellowtail damsel. Cuc is 7 or 8 hermits one cerith snail and one other kind of snail that I forget. It was a baby a few weeks ago. I plucked him out of my other fowlr tank. Oh tank is only a 20 L. First coral I added was long polyp toadstool leather. Next was a peice of live rock that I got a very small Kenya tree and 2 mushroom corals. All seem very fine. Wanting to add some color to the tank. Any corals that are hardy, beginner friendly and very colorful. Prefer if the glo in the dark when my blue leds turn on. Thanks!!! Sorry Ling winded. God bless. zoas/palys tend to be pretty hardy, very colorful, and grow pretty quick. some mushrooms like florida ricordia, frogspawn, depending on your lights you can grow some sps like montipora digitata. those things are the weeds of the sps world lol they'll grow in almost any condition and grow like a weed. you can also do duncans.

Definitely recommend zoas/palys. They are very colorful and grow quickly. These will get you amped about the hobby since you'll get that "Hell Yeah!" reward feeling whenever you see a new polyp. And most importantly, they are very VERY hardy. If you kill one of these, you are doing something majorly wrong.
Next one I'd recommend are the euphyllias (frogspawn, torches, etc.). These are colorful, hardy, and provide that cool "alive" look as their branches flow through the water.
Next are LPS like favias and acans. They add a cool splash of color to the tank.
Many people recommend mushrooms (for the right reasons), but they don't do anything for me. I prefer spending my money on cooler corals.
Last thing: WAIT on buying SPS. They are too finicky for a new tank. Can you get them? Yes...but unless you've maintained CONSISTENT water quality over several months, you'll have that "what the heck am I doing wrong" feeling as your SPS suddenly bleaches, browns, or RTNs from shaky water parameters. We all talk ourselves into that "it won't happen to me" mentality, and then you learn the hard way by killing off a few $100 worth of coral. By the way, the majority of my corals are now SPS...but I should've waited longer before delving into them.

while waiting on sps is generally a good idea, digitata doesn't act like regular sps lol it acts more like gsp... I mean, I had it growing under a 6500 watt cfl with a single blue t5 (whatever came with the fixture I don't even know what it was lol)
