not only have I added cured rock to a system with no changes, I built whole ten year systems off adding live rock and corals in the same hour after I brought it all home, still no change. same params then as it is now, live rock is ready. I didn't transport it home in a way to have killed things, I kept it wet. easy, repeatable, all pico reefing is built on the premise.
when people go set up tanks to hold thirty grand in bounce mushrooms at MACNA for several days, they move over pre cycled materials and their tank is as bioready in six mins after setup as it would be if left for ten years. same ability to nitrify ammonia, our critical cycling param.
whether the rock has a nutrient contribution overall ranges, and is related to its curing status...mine was always standard purple coralline live rock, a bristle worm or three, and it did nothing other than still be 100 years old when I moved it home.
