Hey everyone I'm thinking of adding 5 or 6 Talbots Damsels to my 55 gallon reef. The tank currently has a sail fin tang, lawnmower blenny, chalk basslet, clownfish and twinspot hogfish. The tang is still small. Would it be okay to add Talbot damsels?

I wouldn't. Damsels are ***holes. They will start fighting with each other especially as they get older, and will pick on any fish even remotely similar sized or shaped as them. And they are all about impossible to remove once you realize how aggressive they are

Talbot's are pretty peaceful. You'd most likely be fine, but I'd go with 4-5 not 5-6.

Talbots are probably the meekest of the damsels. Chrysiptera genus are generally OK and don't winnow themselves down like green chromis, as example. I have a bunch in my tank. Probably 60 damsels in total.

I put 3 in my (former) 150g along with a bunch of chromis. I ended up with 1 Talbot's but no impact on the chromis.

I now have a 300g with 13 chromis and that single Talbot's and all have lived peacefully for 2 years. I've thought about trying to introduce more, but very hesitant...
