Adding deadrock

I took some establised LR oyt of my tank about a month ago and would like to add it back to my established tank. I was thinking of adding 1 piece at a time and then adding another piece a week later and continue that process until ive added all the LR i have. Thoughts?

I would run the rock in a bucket with a pump and change the water everyday for a week or two to get all the die off off the rocks then introduce into the tank.
