If I add 100 lbs dry clean rock to my tank how bad of an algae out break will I get?
I'm upgrading from a 40 breeder to a 85 g dt / 50 g sump. I purchased rock from Billy's Reef Connection and it is really clean.
I do not want to deal with the gha out breat like I did my first go around on my first tank.
Is there a way to prevent this or is there just nothing I can do?

Thanks

You can cure it by just tossing it into a Brute trash can with salt water and a power head. You wait a few weeks and check the water for phosphates. If there are none, you are good to go.

I plan to do that up until the point I add the rock to the tank. I have softies, LPS and sps frags that will be in the tank while the cured rock goes into the larger tank. I'm guessing my sps may brown out?
