Adding Dry Rock to Established Aquarium

It depends on how much and what kind it is. I've never had an issue adding dry rock (thoroughly rinsed In RO) to an established system in small amounts. I'd expect some algae and possibly bacteria imbalances if adding a lot at a time. I've had the most issues and noticed the most organics left over on the rock from BRS but maybe that was just the few batches I've had.

Nature's Ocean and 40 pounds in a 220

Nautures Ocean needs to be rinsed very thoroughly. Even if you think it is clean, rinse it a couple more times or you will get a nice white cloud of who knows what in your tank. Nice rock for the price IMO.

BRS has a really nice video that explains how to cure dry LR. The last time I added any, I only added a small amount (~5-7 lbs in a 100g). I cured it just to be safe.

As above, it depends. Some dry rock was fished out of a reef and dried. So it has a pile of dried organic matter. Soaking in diluted bleach generally removes the organic matter. Than rinse, rinse, rinse to remove the bleach and run through RODI.

Other dry rock has a bunch of phosphates. The phosphates leach into your tank causing algal blooms. It is best to cure this stuff if only in a bucket for a few weeks.

Some rock comes from coral reefs on terrestrial sources. Some of this can be dirty as in normal soil and sand. This stuff has to be cleaned, cleaned, cleaned.

Other dry rock is clean, has no significant organic matter and no phosphates.
