Would there be any problem if I added to my aquascape from a box of dry rock that’s been in my garage, in a box, for over a year?

Just don’t want to jack up my water chemistry.

Consider soaking it in some RODI first with a powerhead or two moving the water around the rock and a heater. Then toss the RODI and do the same with some water from your tank for a few days. Rinse and repeat with more water from your tank. ;)

It'll be fine just so long as nothing toxic has gotten on it, you clean it well, and only put a little bit in at a time until bacteria populates on it before you add more

You should be good. bigg mentioned rinse, to get any dead detris or other junk off it. Unless you are puttin in a lot of rock you should not have an issue adding it at once
