Adding dry rock

So yesterday my wife and I went into lfs and she found what she always wanted a tiger pistol shrimp and a yellow goby. So the shrimp tried to make a home for himself where my dottie back lives it worked overnight but today he found himself out on the streets. The rest of the fish won't let him or the goby next to the rock. So they paired up and buried a ditch under my conch lol. I have a bunch of dry rock but don't know if a few pounds of it will harm nutrients. Would I be able to put some in there to build them a home or should I wait and pick up some live rock from lfs. I know once the conch moves they are going to be in the streets again. They look so cute up under there. Thanks guys

Dry rock is fine. I add it relatively regularly. It will probably look ugly for a bit.

So I coaxed them both to the rock and they were fine for awhile. Later on the goby was on the opposite side of tank and then I looked a little later and they switched. This morning the shrimp is under rock again and goby is on the opposite side of tank again. I really wish they would stay together but I know that's not always the case. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks

So I looked under the rock and it looks like the shrimp is shedding. Could this be the reason why the goby won't stay? Should I add another rock just for the goby? I just don't want him to be exposed I want him to feel safe. Thanks

Give them a few days. They'll probably be best friends in no time. The goby will most likely take cover if it feels threatened. Another small rock won't hurt, but goby might not use it.
