Adding equipment before the cycle complete

Would it be advisable to add a skimmer and GFO/Carbon reactor...something like the BRS Dual Reactor was the one I'm thinking?

Just not sure if adding these pieces would interrupt the cycle or not.

I've started up two tanks with all the equipment and lights running from the moment water goes in the tank. Definitely helped speed up my cycles. Just make sure you practice the normal livestock addition procedures.

I've always done a cycle with no skimmer (or reactors). I would also kill my lights as soon as the algae blooms started. I've never tried it the with all the equipment so I can't compare times first hand. Good luck.

Ran mine with skimmer. It skimmed some of the die off from live Rock. After a couple weeks wasn't skimming much at all. No harm though.

I would not run carbon in the first 2-3 weeks.
