Hey crew! My 6ft x 2ft x 2ft tank is slowly being rebooted. Soon I'll have all the fish out and start the process of draining the tank to clean it, re-aquascape and make some much needed plumbing changes. While the tank is empty, I'm seriously considering adding a 2-3" eurobrace for peace of mind. The glass is 5/8" and when full, there is a small bow to the front and back panes, maybe 1/16". I figure if I don't do it now, I'll likely not have another chance and I don't want to regret it down the road.

One of the plumbing changes I'm making is adding an Eshopps Eclipse overflow (similar to the shadow or ghost overflows). Does anyone forsee any maintenance or day to day problems with that kind of setup? It will make it hard to get access to the internal box (only 1.25" deep) and I don't want to lower the box too much and have the water line way below the rim. One thing I've considered is having my glass shop notch the back brace down to 1" where the overflow box will be. Or simply having the back brace in 2 pieces that only span on either side of the overflow.

What do you think?

If you do decide to do this, i don't know how supportive the last one would be, but it's nice having access to the inside of the overflow for cleaning.
