Adding first coral and other questions

Hey everyone,

I've found my first coral that I plan on purchasing. It's a mini maxi anemone thats on live rock. I've got my dip solution but I was wondering if I should be worried about putting someone else's live rock into my tank. I'm also looking at upgrading my skimmer to a Reef octopus 150int skimmer. Anyone have experience with these or have other recommendations for a quiet internal skimmer?

Inspect the rock closely for any algaes.
They (the algae) will show up in QT


Also if you want a quiet skimmer go DC

how long has the tank been running. a nem is not a wise choice unless your tank is at least a bit mature. some say a year, others recommend at least six months.

The tank has been running for about 6 months.
