Today is the day I finally test fill my tank with tap water, I finished glueing all my plumbing Wednesday and I’m itching to get saltwater in and add my fish. I took Ryan at BRS advice and got all my dry rock in a brute can when I pulled the trigger to start up my first build. Marco rock has been cycling for 3 month and is now consuming 5ppm of dr Tim’s ammonia a day.

My question is once my tank is filled and setup, how many fish can I add from my previous tank and how long should I wait between adding more.

Stock list from previous tank

Damsel

Clown

Pajama cardinal

Marine Beta

Cleaner shrimp

I also have coral in the old tank.

If my parameters are stable in the new tank by the time I transfer my last fish can I transfer all my coral and get rid of the old tank?

Coral list

Mushroom

Pom Pom

Leather

Zoanthids

Favia

Chalice

Hammer

Frogspawn

You should be able to transfer everything providing that your new tank has enough space for all the livestock! One thing to consider would be leaving the old tank set up as a QT tank!
