Ok ok ok. I know. I have been told I am crazy.

My current tank mates are :
Yellow tang
Blue hippo tang
Neon dotty back
4 green chronic
2 ocelarous clowns( pair)
2 tomato gold stripe clowns ( pair)
Yellow spotted wrasse
Lawnmower Benny
Lemon damsel
Jawfish( maybe )
Copper band butterfly
I run a mixed coral 180 ga. Reef.
65 ga sump

I want to add.

Purple tang
Salifin tang
Powder blue tang
Those will round out the tangs.

Also I have ton of sponge growing. I want to add a juvenile angel. Not sure which type yet.

Also in time.
Pair of blue throat triggers
Herein on antheas
Cross hatch trigger
Depending on the bio load. Maybe a few other wrasses.

I tried a flasher wrasse but my dotty back has beat it almost to death. Not sure how to introduce it without it getting the snot beat out of it.

Now tell me. How crazy am I?

IMO, that would end up being too many fish for a 180g. Maybe another Tang, the Blue Throat pair...the crosshatch could go ballistic on the others (blue throats tend to stay mellow). Maybe a wrasse...depends on what kind, but overall, I would expect issues with bio load and aggression if you add all of those fish to what you have.

i kinda assumed this however i do have a 65 ga. refugium. so thought maybe it would off set the amount of fish..... i just love that look of a well stocked reef tank ... with a mixed coral tank and lots of fish... what i have now just seem empty in the tank ....

The sump/refugium provides more water volume, but not more swimming space. It basically means more water to keep clean in my book. :)

When you look at full grown size for some of those fish, I think that would end up needing a killer skimmer and you'd have to cross your fingers that some of those fish did not create aggression issues. I have a 240 with another 60ish gallons below. I can't imagine that many fish in mine.

That is a lot of fish, but not impossible, though it is very dependant on water parameters and aggression issues.

Complicating matters is the fact that there are already some territorial and aggressive fish in the tank.

If you decide to proceed I recommend figuring out which ones you want most and taking your time in getting them, not skipping quarantine, and investing in a lg social acclimation box.

Yeah the yellow tang and the neon dotty. Are by far the two punks of the tank so far. I am most likely not going to go ahead with the powder blue. I have heard way to many stories with them. But the are so beautiful. As for acclimation box. I have already built a rather large one out on egg crate and fine plastic netting.
