Would I be able to increase the flow of my tank by just adding a cheap little water pump into it attached to the glass like the picture. Or could it cause any issues that a wave maker would be better for? I have a 20 gallon cube and i wanted to add just a bit more flow for torches and hammers

A small gyre might make sense for a your tank. Can you repost the pic? I can’t see it.

Check out jebao wavemakers on amazon

Oh I see. That looks like a return pump. Sometimes they have attachments that can make them work like a power head. You could certainly try it out!

It's certainly usable but the aesthetics might not be great compared to a wave maker with an external drive (and cable)
Also, most wavemakers are programmable so will be able to provide a slower, varying flow which may be more beneficial to Torches etc. compared to a constant flow in one direction.
