Hi. I have a nano tank that has almost finished its cycle. Im planning to slowly add inverts since I want to slowly add bioload to my tank since its a nano.
My question is, since theres no fish waste, algae, or any sorts of waste in the water collumn, is it safe to add inverts into the tank? hermits, snails, etc.
How do I keep them alive? Thanks

So if you are coming to the end of your cycle you should see an algae bloom which should provide enough algae food source for most snails you add. However for hermits, they don’t pic at algae much and often pick up uneaten food, I would supplement them with a few pieces of brine or mysis every other day or something similar.

So for hermits I would just feed it like I would feed fish. Do they eat pellets? Because from my other tank, my hermits do eat leftover pellets, but I'm not sure if its just luck or all hermits eat pellets. I can start seeing some diatoms (shades of brown starting to appear on sandbed), so maybe I can consider snails too

Yeah, they eat all kinds of leftover food, I just suggested brine or mysis as they are less nutrient dense which just in case the hermits dont eat it, it doesnt add nitrate or phosphate to a newly cycled still not established tank like a pellet or flake might
