Is it a good idea or possible to add led strips to boost your current light setup?

If you are looking for more pop etc
Allot of people do that. A good idea depnds on your setup and what you are trying to achieve. How much par you have etc.

Following. I've always thought that LED strips were more for visual aesthetics than actual par adjustment. I guess there's a lot of factors to consider.

If you really like your setup then adding some led bars is a relatively easy and cost effective way to achieve what you want. The orphek led bars are really nice. Im waiting on the 150's for my new build on display.

What is your current setup? Tank size, current light setup? What are your current par levels throughout the tank? What par levels or look are you goong for? What types of corals are you trying to grow? What is wrong with current setup that you have noticed?

I think once you answer those queations that should help you in decision.

If you can see it, it adds par. Par simply measures visible light. There’s no trickery or exceptions here.

My two sbreef actinic led bars put out roughly 100 par at the top of the rocks if both run at 50%, which is as high as I go with them

I have a 60 cube and have a led light I got on amazon. I have good growth on zoas and some Lps but not enough coverage for all the tank. I was planning on buying some led bar lights and add a few led strips to them so get high output and better coverage. Thank you for your reponses.
