Adding life rock to newly established tank

Setting up a new 14g all in one and im gonna use
Tims to cycle but. I got a aquatic life ro/di coming in tomorrow so ill be able to start my tank! But i dont have the rock yet. Im going with liferock(no cure needed)so i ask could i start the tank tomorrow and add the rock in 2 weeks time?
Maybe add a little more tims bacteria when i add the rock?? Or should i wait until i get the rock to fill/start my cycle.

Note id be ok with diatom or a small algae bloom from adding rock later.

I’m no expert, but I think you will be fine to start and add the rock when you get but j could be wrong. maybe others have a better suggestion?

The rock will house the majority of your bacteria, so it really is the center piece of your cycle. If you use a biological type media like seachem matrix, bag it and put it in one of your chambers, you could start the cycle, and the bacteria would colonize in that media. While liferock does contain bacteria, when the rock comes, I would dose additional bacteria. The established bacteria in the previous cycled media would spread and colonize. At this point you should be instantly cycled.

I don't feel the need to add live rock to an established tank. I just recently redid a rock island in my tank, added about 50 lbs of that caribsea life rock (purple fake stuff with coated bacteria). Three weeks later I never got a bloom and didn't see my po4 change at all. The rock still looks great!

Live rock is so over-rated IMO.

*EDIT: for some reason I read your post as adding "LIVE" rock and not "LIFE" rock. Yup, no issues with just adding it...I do a quick water change and use the old water to rinse the rocks off and just throw them in the tank.
