Adding live rock to established tank

I have some tonga branching LR coming in from blue zoo Tonga Branch Live Rock - FREE 3-Day Shipping! - Sclaractinia , I was thinking about letting it completely dry and let all organisms die, incase there are any unwanted pests on it, is this a good idea, any suggestions?

That's a way to go, even though I read online others use chemicals to bleach it out than soak in ro/di water for a few days before set it in a tank...which I don't feel comfortable to do so with established tank...

Wouldn't adding the completely dead live rock to the tank cause it to cycle?

Why waste your money on live rock then and kill everything for no reason you pretty much defeating the purpose of spending the extra money for it to be live.
