Adding live rock

best if you cycle in a bucket or something with a powerhead. wait a week and check ammonia level. if any swap a water change out of your tank and check again in another week. better safe than sorry..

Well I finally added come dry rock and this is what the tank looks likes. Hope you all like it. I do have a wave maker in the back behind the rocks. I wanted to hide it and I think this way the water will blow against the rock and disperse it so there is more water movement.

That's nice looking rock! You might want to double check and make sure there's enough water circulation between them. They look pretty close together and that can create pockets of water that don't circulate, creating water quality problems. Love the clownfish too!

Looking good. I agree with the suggestion to possibly rearrange the rock so you get better flow around and through the rock. Maybe more of an island look in the center with the style tank you have. Looks like a nice amount of rock for your tank.

Thanks I have about 10 pounds of live rock with 9 pounds of the new dry rock. And as for rearranging the rock I'll see what looks good if anything I'll just move the wave maker.

Your "mini star" is probably an asterina species. Some will eat coral, but the majority do not (especially the all-white ones) so don't panic unless you start to see coral damage.

I have used an HOB and it's fine - just clean it real good (NO SOAP, but unscented bleach is okay if rinsed well) at least once a week. Twice is probably optimal.

I would like to have coral but I won't do it with this tank I want to do it in a 75 gallon when I get the money and thinks its time to upgrade lol
