Hello R2R, i've been running my 57 gal tank for 2 months know with a lot of corals and fishes.
I only added less than 1" of live sand in the beginning. Now, the front of my tank has become bare.

Is it safe to add Live sand in the front? Will it affect my corals/fishes, etc...?

What are your thoughts/experiences?

I would just add dry sand. Cheaper. Just rinse real good. I have done it in the past. I dealt with algea for the first couple months. Then it was fine.

Thanks, and how did you add it? A Cup at a time?

Just add it slowly enough that it doesnt completely cloud up the water (not all at once, spread out over an hour or something) I went from a 1 inch sandbed to a 4 inch one in my 28 gallon, rinsed sand really really well before adding
