Would adding live rock to an already existing tank cause any problems ie bacteria bloom, diatom bloom, funky parameters etc.? I do have a few diatoms now but the tank is mostly stable. The system is a few months old, I just want more rock.

Depends on where the live rock is sourced from. If its a local store that cultivates its own live rock chances are you are far less likely to get any pests than if that same rock was pulled from the ocean however again it depends on the source some stores are better than others. If you're patient i i prefer to get dry rock as its cheaper and just let it spread. Thats an almost sure fire way of not adding anything bad to the tank

Yes and No. If problems are going to happen, better now than after a year or 2. Add the rock.
