My tank as it stands is a 20g long with 4 blue leg hermits and 6 snails for a clean up crew and one firefish. I have an idea of what i want the tank to become and I would love to add coral and at least one anemone, the tank is 2 months in and i know you should wait 6 months for the tank to mature before adding an anemone also to add the anemone first before adding corals so the anemone doesn't kill anything as it moves around. I dont mind waiting that long before i can add anything that i want, but was curious of a way to start on the corals and move them around once the anemone gets introduced? If there was anyway to temporarily fasten them to a rock or if its best to just wait it out. I find myself staring at it even if its rocks and one fish, but id like to hear other peoples experiences.

Is this your first tank? How are you at maintaining good water chemistry?

In my personal experience, my nems do not disrupt other corals. Nems will also move through and where they deem fit.

I do recommend the 6 month mark if this is your first go and you’ll need to have a solid grasp of maintaining parameters and waste export. I have seen many low maintenance tanks succeed with just weekly water changes.

You def want to wait on the nem for at least 6 months minimum, and you want a very stable tank. You can do a lot with corals- no need to wait. You can get frags and make an egg crate stand for them and just keep them propped there on their plugs until you are ready for a nem. Or you can just place them on the rocks now. I had 20 or so corals placed before I got my nem. He doesnt intentionally bother them but he eventually parked himself too close to a plating monti and killed an inch or 2 of it down one side. Didnt kill the coral though and I just moved the rock it was fixed too. Up to you.

This is my first tank i have a digital thermostat hooked to my phone for the temp, and do weekly tests with my weekly water changes to ensure my ph, ammonia, nitrites, and nitrates are where they need to be. My ph stays around 8.3 and i have bottles to alter the ph if it gets out of whack i am approaching this very cautiously and don't want anything to die or be killed off. My local pet store it a 3min drive and if there's ever an emergency and they have been helping me I was initially going to wait 6 month before adding anything other than fish but a friend of mind tempted me with the possibility of adding something and i wanted to have my stats straight.

I was thinking of just placing the corals in the sand or on the rocks without any adhesive but I'm afraid they would get knocked over and i will be waiting for the nem it is the wise thing to do

if they get knocked over, just stand them back up. its not a big deal
