Hello again everyone. I am needing some more live rock. I didnt realize starting out with this tank you need to get all the rock in before u start your cycle. My tank has cycled of course and i have 5 fish. I currently have 40 lbs of live in my tank. My tank is 65 gallon. Im wanting to add 60 more lbs. I get it from lfs. Its in aquariums with crabs and fish when they get it out. Ive attached a picture of the kind i get. My question is if i get 60 lbs tomorrow and bring two tubs of ro/saltwater and take it out of their tank and put it directly in the tubs for the drive home will it be ok to put it then directly in my tank? Ive heard if u put rock in cycled tank it will cause another mini cycle ammonia spike from die off during the ride home. But if it stays in saltwater the whole time seems like there would be no die off. Anyone have experience in this situation? Id love advice. I dont have another tank to store the rocks in for weeks like some people do so i was hoping this would make it to where i can put it directly in the tank. Thanks for any help!

If they pack it wet for you then it should be fine for the ride home without using tubs of water. Though your plan will work, it sounds like a pain in the tush. Most people are referring to the rock being shipped over night or even longer when they talk about die-off and mini cycles. At our store we wrap it in wet paper towels and put it in bags and that is usually fine for an hour or so.
