I haven't come across a thread on this yet, but can you add magnesium powder to a filter sock on the drain and let it dissolve into the water that way or is it still recommended to make a stock solution?

It looks like I will need about 1 kg of BRS mag sulfate to raise mine back to 1400 from 1100. Can I add 100 grams a day to a sock x 10 days?

So you're saying there's a chance! lol -- I just didn't want the added volume from mixing it in a gallon of water.

The only way I could get consistent magnesium test results with the Red Sea Kit, was by using a Magnetic Stirrer.
